Meet The Staff
My name is Uma Khemka. I left the oil and gas industry to start A-1 Personnel of Houston in 1992. At that time I was an accountant with 2 young daughters and I was looking for a change.
I have had the tremendous privilege of running this business for the last 25 years. Working with job seekers and helping them find wonderful long-term positions is my passion. It makes me happy when workers contact me to tell me that they got their job through us and they have been working for our client directly for many years. The relationships we have with our clients, especially City of Houston and Harris County, have been a blessing.
When my husband and I came to this country from India in 1978 we wanted to work hard and provide a better future for our children. We would not have dreamed then that our lives would take the course it did. On weekends we enjoy spending time with our children and our two grand boys!
My name is Aurora Torres. I recruit for positions such as hospital cafeteria cooks and trayline associates, cashiers, administrative & office support, general labor, call center representatives, and outpatient clinic medical assistants.
I am passionate about finding jobs for people who are eager to get a new position. They are so happy and excited to move forward in a new direction and I find happiness in helping them to pursue a new goal in their lives.

I am a mother of 4 awesome adult kids and 5 loving grandkids, happily married to my husband of 25 years. I enjoy family time and cook outs and going for a ride on our motorcycle.
My name is Veronica Garcia. I have worked for A-1 Personnel as a recruiter for more than 7 years. I will go the extra mile to help any candidate achieve their goal of gaining the position they most desire.
I recruit for positions such as I.T , Medical (LVN's, RN's, Pharmacy Technicians, etc.), administrative & office support, general labor, cashiers and all other aspects of customer service.

I am a mother of 2 awesome kids and 2 loving dogs and all while being happily married. In my free time I love to go to the lake and walk the trails with my family and my two dogs leaving all the devices at home and just enjoy some family time.
